  • What is Modafinil?
  • Modawake is a generic version of modafinil made by HAB Pharma.

    Soon after a patent issued to Cephalon Inc. for Modafinil expired, other companies took to the scene to produce their own generic version of this blockbuster medication. Modaheal joined the market in 2017.

    Modaheal is a generic version of modafinil made by the company Healing Pharma, based out of Mumbai, India.

    It comes in the standard 200 mg dose and is nearly identical in almost every way to other brands like ProvigilĀ® or other generics like Modalert.

    The main differences between all of these medications are the price and the fillers used during the manufacturing process.

    R-Modawake is a generic version of armodafinil (NuvigilĀ®). Itā€™s virtually same as Modawake but only contains pure R-modafinil. R-modafinil is considered an enantiomer of the modafinil compound. An enantiomer is what we use to describe either the left-hand version of a chemical or the right-hand version.

    This is a common concept in chemistry. We may have one compound, in this case, modafinil, but each compound can be either right-handed or left-handed, which gives them slight differences in how they interact with the bodies receptors, and how we metabolize them.

    In modafinil, we have both S-modafinil, and R-modafinil. Theyā€™re virtually identical ā€” but mirror opposites.
    Studies have shown that the R-enantiomer has a slightly more potent effect on the dopamine transport receptors (DAT) than the S-enantiomer.

    As a result, Cephalon Inc, the manufacturer of the brand name versions of these medications, produced a new product to leverage this. It was an enantiopure compound (NuvigilĀ®) containing only the R-modafinil version.

    To no surprise, the resulting product was found to be slightly more stimulating than regular modafinil and lasted slightly longer as well. The dose given to provide the same level of stimulation of 200 mg of modafinil was 150 mg.

    This is now considered a standard dose for armodafinil products produced by Cephalon Inc in addition to generic versions like R-Modawake.
  • Dosage
  • Much like our other brands of Modafinil (Modvigil) and Armodafinil (Artvigil), each tablet is carefully manufactured to include a breaker line along the center of the tablet. This means that each 200 mg tablet may be broken in half (along the breaker line) to give an accurate 100 mg dose. For many users, 100 mg is more than enough to give an adequate feeling of wakefulness, focus and attention. Depending on the individualā€™s circumstances, some users may take 200 mg to attain the desired effects.

    Itā€™s important to understand your specific metabolism and individual reaction to Modafinil. So we recommend taking 100 mg on an empty stomach as early as possible. You should begin to notice the effects within 1 hour, with effects beginning to diminish after approximately 6 ā€“ 8 hours.
